Aluminium, our main raw material, is a lightweight, strong, and durable material. It is safe, does not burn or give off toxic fumes and is highly resistant to corrosion. It is also highly light-reflective and can take infinite shapes to suit all types of design applications.
It was discovered at the end of the 19th century and comes from bauxite, the third most abundant element in the earth’s crust. However, despite its high availability, it is a 100% recyclable material, which allows other products to be obtained without compromising the resources of future generations and without generating any type of waste.
One of the greatest advantages of aluminium is that it can be infinitely recycled without losing its original quality, consuming only 5% of the energy that was used when the raw material was first extracted. In fact, it is estimated that more than 75% of the aluminium manufactured and transformed in the last 100 years is still in use today.
For these reasons, it is a highly sustainable material that favours the circular economy, i.e., “a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. In this way, the life cycle of products is extended.” (Source: European Parliament).
Kriskadecor’s aluminium chains
Our aluminium chains are made from 99.99% aluminium, including 20% recycled material which helps us reduce our carbon footprint.
Likewise, the quality and reliability of the projects developed is due to our extensive experience working with aluminium (since 1926), together with the fact that each design solution is manufactured from start to finish in our facilities: from the manufacture of the links from aluminium wire from Irurzun (Navarre, Spain), to the structures that are installed in each project.
In addition, our anodising and colouring treatment provides stability and hardness. This internal process allows us to obtain a wide range of our own customised colours with brilliant and satin finishes.
